Here's what our runners have to say about the God's Country Marathon!

2014 - I keep coming back to this one because of the great organization, the friendly spectators and volunteers, the small town atmosphere, and the challenge that 'the hill' adds to this tougher-than-most marathon. I definitely did not conquer the hill the first couple times running it! Test yourself against a challenging course, the organization, scenery, and top notch volunteers and spectators make it worthwhile. I'll be back and try to talk my running buddies into joining me.
2014 - Enjoyed the support from the other runners, organizers, volunteers and fans at the sidelines. I feel a huge sense of accomplishment after conquering the hill!
2014 - I loved how small this race was. The race is clearly a labor of love by the race director and his wife, both of whom were very hands on. Well-organized pre-start and start, nice small town feel, loved the post-race area and availability of showers.
2013 - Great crowd support, friendly people, nice small town environment, beautiful scenery, challenging but not impossible.
2013 - Marathoning is NOT just about running big races with thousands of spectators; it's ultimately about the challenge of runner vs. course; runners bonding together to conquer the course and the distance. The God's Country Marathon is a beautiful course in a great location.
2012 -Prior to this race, I had only run large city marathons. I chose this marathon because it was small and for the challenge. It was well organized, there were friendly volunteers and it was a beautiful course. Free & very close parking to finish line, had access to school gym and restrooms prior to start, GU available at 5, 10, 15 and 20 mile water stations, your name and city wer announced when you crossed the finish line. The bonus for reaching the summit of the HILL is the 2 mile downhill stretch that follows! I would run this marathon again and would recommend it to friends.
2011 - I have run this race 5 times and I come back every year for the fine people that work the race, the challenge, the simplicity of the area and the friends I've made.
