Whether it's running, biking, golfing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, cross country or downhill skiing, snowboarding, hunting, fishing or just taking a hike in the woods, Potter County offers unique events and year-round recreational activities for all ages and skill levels.
In June, we are proud to host the God's Country Marathon, named one of the "best small marathons" and the "top ten toughest marathons" in the United States by Runner's World Magazine. If you're a dedicated endurance runner who loves a challenge, be sure to get yourself to "God's Country" and "Conquer the Hill!"
Want to take things at a slower pace? The Susquehannock Trail System offers an 85 mile looping trail - built by hikers, for hikers - that will bring you to some of the most secret, scenic and serene locations in the county. Complete the full trail and you can apply for the Circuit Hiker Award.
True to tradition, Potter County hosts some of the best hunting and fishing in Pennsylvania. Avid outdoor sportspeople can compete in our archery festivals, fishing derbies and even the "Big Buck" Contest during the sporting seasons.
